Moon Vessel Workshop
In this 2-day workshop we’ll be working on how to throw larger bellied-out pots. We will observe and discuss the form in connection to its origins and evolution from the traditional Korean moon jars, and find tips and tricks based in traditional Korean throwing techniques. You will need a foundation of throwing skills, but we will focus on how to throw larger and wider forms — wherever you are at in your own clay journey, we will push to go a bit bigger, while getting more out of your clay!
Trimming and glazing will be beyond the scope of the workshop and should be completed after.
Sessions: two sessions of 3 hours (+ a nice tea break)
Materials: clay, glazes, and firing available upon request!
BYO: tools, some old clothes, and a towel (always bring your towel ;-) ).
